The most wonderful time of year!

So everyone talks about Halloween and it is truly great we can go out in whatever we want . People will think its funny or awesome etc mean while were like screaming on the inside THIS IS ME !!!!!! but were just so excited to be out and dressed with zero stress because even the biggest bigot or homophobic person will laugh. But now that season is over and its truly the best season for a trans/cd person because its the one time of the year that anyone can walk into any store and buy anything with out getting looks or comments or even yourself feeling that everyone is watching and judging you even if their not , But its even better yet even better then being able to go anywhere and buy anything people will HELP YOU!!!! store clerks and even customers it truly the best time to go out and get those heels or skirt even make up .

What I found that makes me chuckle to myself is how eager people are to help . I still haven't gone out in public dressed for real other then a few Halloween's way back "as a joke" .... but I always have high hopes that I will so I decided that if I was going to I would need to forgo the usual "sexy" short tight skirts and 5 inch heels and look more appropriately dressed for the mall . You want to blend so wearing an evening gown and being 7 feet tall cause your rocking 6 inch heels you might just stand out anyway besides any other indications your a man in women's clothes. So anyway I decided to go and find a nice knee length sweater dress and some kitten heel to 2 inch heeled calf high boots . As I'm looking through the racks I can't figure what size will hang just above my knee and I notice a lady holding dresses up to herself to see the length . I leaned over and said I noticed how she was holding them up is that accurate and she said " it's pretty close how tall is she?" I quickly relied on my guy instincts and was like " I don't know I guess close to my height maybe an inch shorter and a little thinner but with bigger boobs and butt I guess?!" Well what happened next was magical and humorous she said "man a lot of women would die for a guy like you " then she said here let me show you and started holding dresses up to me to see the length and then another women joined in and was like this one here is really nice she would love it and as this women held it up to me she said see this is the perfect height .

I then did something I never did nor thought I would ever do. I took that dress and walked to the men's dept. and looked at some jeans they had on sale I found my size and the next size bigger and went to fitting room with jeans and dress in hand. I told the lady at the door I wanted to try on these jeans and I was going to get this dress for my wife and there's alot of people going through the dress rack and I didn't want to loose it so I was going to keep it with me as I tried on jeans and she said " I can't blame you that's a really good price on those dresses" so I went in and tried on that dress and twirled around in the mirror and just enjoyed the moment.. needless to say I got dress and no jeans!!!

Now try doing any of that in July!!!!!! In closing all I can say is Gurls go out and shop!!!!! get your outfits get your make up and shoes etc. and take advantage of the free female help we all wish we had . Ask about colors and cuts/fits shades of make up use yourself as and example as I did just act clueless and helpless and at this time of year everyone is helpful and a bit naive!!!!

Reprieve: looking like your favorite celebrity

So a while back back I stated if I could obtain a look it would resemble Taylor Swift and trust me  I wish I could   she is stunning but in my knuckleheadedness (if that's a word LOL!) What I meant to say was Carrie Underwood and I think its because she always looks good yet very simple and I think its an easily obtainable look. I'm sure I or most of us couldn't or wouldn't look like a celebrity we would want to look like but I think its a good place and way to start.

We get alone we get all excited we gather up our wears and start our transformations. We have our outfits picked out we switch clothing around until we get the look or feel we are happy with then we go and pull out the make up we put on our moisturizer (yeah always moisturize before applying make up it works , looks and last so much better and actually helps with the clean up) we start putting on foundation we pick out what shadow to do our eyes we apply and wipe and reapply until we feel we look fierce!! then we go to blush and lip gloss oh skipped the all important concealer never forget that must cover our five o'clock shadows and imperfections!!!  and WA-LA were done and looking like? maybe fab maybe drab but what about trying this..........

Since were men and probably for most I know for me its true our mothers never taught us about make-up and probably again our wives/girlfriend's or just girl friends don't even know you dress ( if that doesn't pertain to you god bless and please share with us who and how they showed you!!)

So I think the next time I get dressed I'm going to google pictures of Carrie Underwood (pick whom ever you would like to resemble) I'm going to pick the best and simplest picture of her face make it screen size and just try to mimic the picture as best as I can referring to it for pointers IE. how much liner did she use was it on full eye or just bottom was it two shades blended?  What color shadow , was it bold or suttle? did she define her cheek bones with blush or just gently color cheeks?

I will let you know how this works I couldn't believe it wouldn't help it always good to 1) have an idea or vision of what look you want to go for 2) have a reference to the look to guide you and 3) really its your time enjoy it and have fun.. I will follow this posting up with pictures of me in make-up and then the picture of Carrie and her look and then of me after trying to obtain that look. And would welcome any and all feed back!!!

I would love to know who you celebrity look-a-like would be and really would enjoy seeing some pictures of the look and how it worked for you.
Plus if its always good to get feed back from non bias and support people so don't be shy and I won't either

a great article about feminizing your voice

Everyone please go check this out and sign up for the newsletter it is always filled with great content.
I cannot tell you how many times I have heard it before:
"I pass as a woman ... until I open my mouth."
If you are like most transgendered females I know, you must have
spent a LOT of time, energy and money perfecting your feminine
image. It has probably taken you years of practice to get your hair
and makeup right and you have undoubtedly spent hundreds - maybe
even thousands - of dollars on breast forms, wigs, and shoes.
Unfortunately, none of that matters the moment you are forced to
speak. If you cannot TALK like a woman, you are not going to pass.
Period.
It is your VOICE that makes or breaks you as a woman.
But you probably already know that. Knowing you need to work on
your voice is not the problem - it is the "doing something about it"
part that is so hard!
Voice feminization is one of the toughest parts of transitioning.
Sadly, there are very few transgendered females with passable
voices.
Therefore, if you want to feminize your voice better, there is a
new program available called the Voice Feminization Program by
Kathe Perez who is A certified Speech Language Pathologist for the
past 22 years.

The worlds favorite "new" term Diversity!! HA!! LOL!!!

So working for large companies in my life to shopping at stores and even sports and the Internet I can not escape the loosely used term "diversity" lets first look at its technical meaning :

di·ver·si·ty

[dih-vur-si-tee, dahy-] Show IPA
noun, plural -ties.
1.
the state or fact of being diverse; difference; unlikeness.
2.
variety; multiformity.
3.
a point of difference.

now lets look at what a picture will tell us about this word :

Its a rainbow known as a symbol for the gay, lesbian,TRANS community

People of different races as one

A group of people but no better a diverse group of people from age to race to ?

There's posters saying "Dare to be Different" Stand-out" etc. there's even a commercial on T.V. that has people dressed in space suits and even cross dressed doing everyday things and their message is about being you!

Well in this great world of diversity and being you then why can't we be us?!

I don't know maybe I misunderstood maybe it means if we have a work force of Caucasians,African Americans, catholics, and Muslims we need to hire Spanish people or were not "diversified"

Maybe it means nothing at all and that's how I feel would you want to be the only one of your race or religion at your work place only because you were that race or religion?

But with all this "diversity" why is it OK for Dustin Hoffman to play "tootsie" and win awards for suck a great film why was bossom buddies such a hit that they made a remake?

Why can macho guys like Patrick Swazey play a drag queen in to wong fu? and how can Dennis Rodman walk around in a wedding dress ? Even better Chaz Bono can be on a show and get married and loved and adored by all and oh what a tough life he must of had WHY? WHY? well because there rich and famous? but aren't they or shouldn't they also be role models?

so then why can we not pull up our hosiery primp up our hair and faces and slip on our heels with out being chastised?

Tips and Insight

So over the years like I said I've done this and tried that and these are somethings I've learned.

Its hard to go shopping for items with out looking feeling weird so remember Halloween is open season you can go anywhere and buy anything and nobody will think a thing of it. Christmas is great to buy shoes and clothing panties etc. because again it just appears your shopping for gifts. Now if you go shopping through out the year I noticed a problem I kept running into every time I looked at anything for women or in a women's store the sales people would always run over to see if I need help. The first time this happened I freaked and I said I don't know its her birthday and she wanted this (whatever I wanted I said) but I can't find it or I'm not sure what size etc. and they would ask a bunch of questions to help so I learned to use this technique  I would size up the girl helping me and take a quick look at others in store and I see if I would fit in there clothes so when they say well how big is she I will now say something like around your size or maybe between your height and mine then what ever size she told me I would go one size bigger. The best stores I found are Forever XXI and Charlotte Rouse and it really helps to joke at the check out and be like do you think its my color? because they always laugh and then ask if I want a gift receipt and I just look like a nice guy buying something for his girl.
The next thing to remember when you get all dolled up and think your the hottest you've ever been take a picture and then really look at it before you decide to go out in public if you want to look as passable as possible before you leave the house the reason is your a guy you look like a guy then you put on some panties and a cute top and skirt ,killer heels and you look like a guy in your sisters clothes then you apply make up and now you look different and you feel empowered and all sexy when you marvel at your transformation but seriously take some pictures and look at them because you will be shocked how different you look in a picture then the mirror and the picture image is how the world see you. I would highly suggest taking a few pictures when ever you dress take them of face and  whole body front ,back ,side stand in front of a long mirror or door mirror and take a picture of your reflection this will help you see what others will see and also what works and what doesn't . I've also noticed looking back at pictures as a time line how much better I got at putting outfits together and the most amazing thing I noticed is my stance pictures from way back I appeared to be a guy in pantyhose standing like I was playing football. Now I look at the pictures and I stand as a women would looking at a picture of me from neck down you would have a hard time telling I was a guy.
Walmart sells a few things that are great and inexpensive they sell padded booty panties to give you a rounder more sumptuous feminine butt. They also sell "chicken cutlets" small silicone breast forms to give you some breasts pair that with a padded bra and its a good start we will talk later where to get more serious fem items . They also sell and I know Khol's also does body slimmers its like spanx you can get ones that cover from your thighs to your arms and everything between but getting on of these along with the booty panties and the breast forms and now you have curves! and probably pretty good one. Just remember if you going out wear appropriate clothing don't dress like your going clubbing in South Beach if your just going to walk around the mall. and don't buy clothing to big or to tight you want to look "real"
Theres alot I can tell you and alot I need to learn still but these are just ideas or things I ran into as I've progressed . Next time I will talk about walking in heels and looking natural your stance and probably make up.

A bit more of my journey

I can remember back to hitting puberty or even before I always loved the way women's legs looked and felt in pantyhose and I remember the first time I saw my moms pantyhose hanging in the bathroom and I put them on WOW!! then of course it went to her panties and skirts etc. but then I discovered girls and several years went by and I got married and on two different Halloweens my wife dressed me up as a chick. I of course was like WTF but then all those adolescent feelings of wearing my moms hosiery came rushing back and I was loving every moment of it and even better it kinda turned her on to have sex with me that one night as a women and then that was the end of it. but from that point on occasionally while doing the laundry I would put on some of her clothes while no one was home for like a few minutes. One time I recall I was away and saw these amazing heels that I loved and thought she might also like so I got them and she never wore them So one day I was cleaning out the closet and I stumbled across them so I squeezed my foot into them and walked around etc. Then next time I painted my toe nails and took pictures then started adding on her clothes etc. I even was house sitting for a Friend and went into his wife's closet who had much bigger feet then my wife and stole yeah STOLE a pair of her heels!!!! and then just like that the urges went away or should I say were more subdued.
At this point quit some time went by and I'm not saying I didn't dress but not very often and I never did make up or wear a wig I just liked to wear women's clothes never thought about or cared about being passable. It wasn't until about two years ago that I started really getting back into dressing full swing and about a couple of months past that when I wanted to be more passable. I started playing around with make up and since I wasn't going to be seen by anyone I used products like NYC and Wet and Wild . I chose these for availability and ease because if you throw a few items in your cart at walmart who would notice compared to going up to the counter in your local drugstore or beauty supply with just these items, I also liked the array of colors and then best of all the large selection of items available from .99 to like $2.99. The first time I tried make up I had a long brown wavy wig and I looked like Meme from the Drew Carey Show but worse. After a lot more attempts it got a little better then I learned some things I will post in a new posting for easier reference and finding if you need to refer back.
